People at CKS have lived complex lives, picking up diverse disciplinary talents and abilities along the way. We are not shy about proposing new and radical solutions to problems, nor to pointing out why existing approaches will not work. We can stay with problems, proposing one solution after another after another until we find something that works. We can make a solution better and better and better by fine tuning it and gently calibrating it against different kinds of users. We understand that Innovation is hard work.

Knowledge-Based Innovation Processes

Lateral leaps of design thinking are possible at CKS because they reside within a larger process of data accumulation and knowledge structuration, which we call the Innovation Cycle. We have unique abilities in visualizing both qualitative and quantitative data in ways that can be immediately understood and then acted upon. We routinely organize fine-grained information from the field into large data sets so that multiple minds can work together to solve large and complex problems.

Indian Ingenuity for the World

We are based in India, but have built knowledge and research partnerships with organizations around the world. Our personnel have routinely gone on to pursue doctoral degrees in different parts of the world, and we frequently recruit designers and researchers to join us in India from Europe and the United States. We have hosted numerous international conferences on design thinking and innovation and routinely contribute to the emerging global conversation on innovation.
