Design Public Conclave
The Design Public Conclave is a high-level conversation among a select group of thinkers, decision-makers and opinion-leaders in the area of innovation, design, development, entrepreneurship and public policy who seek to use innovation in order to advance the public interest. Design Public began in 2011 to initiate interactions around whether and how Innovation can serve the Public Interest. Since then it has focused on critical topics; the first edition of Design Public in March 2011 focused on ‘Design Thinking and the Challenge of Governance Innovation’ and the second edition in October 2011, focused on ‘Innovation in the Public Interest’. This, third edition of the Design Public Conclave will be held in New Delhi on the 20th of April 2012, and it has as its theme ‘Trust, Participation and Innovation.’

2.Graphic Design Internships

Starting from: 19th March 2012
Length of programme: 4 weeks
Graphic design interns are expected to design and execute scenographic backdrops and posters for the event, various collaterals the main publication and outbrief and re-design the identity (tentative). The interns will closely work with the event producers to acquired varied content and graphic directions. We will also provide training to use the CKS archive from which he/she is expected to retrieve the relevant data required.
• Graduate in Graphic Design with relevant experience in designing books/print media.
• Applied knowledge and fluency of Adobe Photoshop, Indesign, and Illustrator.
• Be able to work independently
• Fluent in English (written and spoken)
• Team player
• Willing to take responsibility
• The applicant must be able to show examples of his/her work, and be able to maintain this style throughout the internship

3.Event Production Internships
Location: Delhi

Starting from: 9th April 2012
Length of programme: 2 weeks
Event Production interns are expected to performs tasks such as logistics management i.e. vendor and participant co-ordination, printing and venue set-up direction etc. The interns will closely work with the event producers to acquire varied logistic directions.
• Event Management or Logistic Co-ordination Experience
• Willing to take responsibility and work independently with minimal directions
• Fluent in English (spoken)
• Good discipline and time management skills, should be able to work under pressure to meet deadlines

4. Junior Design Research Intern
Location: New Delhi/Bangalore
Number of internships offered: 01
Start of programme: Ongoing
Length of programme: 6-8 Weeks
Junior Design Research intern is expected to travel to various rural areas of India and conduct ethnographic research. One needs to make a detailed report of the same in a ppt format. He/She will report to the Design Researcher in a group. This is a paid internship.
Applicant requirements:
• Research skills are absolutely necessary
• Willing to travel to rural places of India
• Ability to translate raw data into actionable information
• Be able to work independently with minimum direction
• Ability to deliver under pressing deadline
• Fluent in English and Hindi
• Team player
• Willing to take responsibility
